Lunch + Legislation with Adam Mason, ASPCA Senior Manager of Farm Animal Welfare and Environmental Policy

The Farm Bill is one of the best opportunities to leverage federal legislation to improve the lives of the over 10 billion animals who are raised for food in the United States each year.

Adam Mason, ASPCA, March 6, 2023, Lunch + Legislation

After watching Adam’s interview, animal advocates will have no doubt about the importance of the federal Farm Bill, its current impact on farmed animals currently, and the very real potential for the 2023 bill to improve their lives.

See Adam’s complete interview.

The Farm Bill is being negotiated now. It comes up for renewal approximately every 5 years and, according to Adam, lawmakers are currently taking comments from interested parties. We know that the industrial agriculture concerns have outsized influence on the bill, and he is issuing a Call to Action for animal advocates.

It’s our job [in the animal welfare movement] to make sure this bill is good for animals.
